Hope everyone had a great UnTurkey Day! (Yeah, yeah, we know we're a bit late on this
- but we needed a break after all the back-to-back conferences. Now we're back - kindna.
)
We've updated our website with an absolutely super duper listing of
awards, scholarships, contests, and fellowships for student and young
animal advocates. It was so, so, so much work and research. But we hope this will help lots of you out! (yeah, we love you too)
Check out: http://www.defendanimals.org/involved/awards.htm
Please make sure to let us know if we've left anything out. And surely,
if you're planning to apply to any of them. Let us know, we may be able
to help! (Yep, the Student Animal Rights Alliance has MAD connections!)
Also, there's been some *incredible* news in the past weeks - the New Jersey Supreme Court voted unanimously to cancel the state's bear hunt and Forever 21 has pledged to remove all fur from their stores and stop selling fur!!!! Yay!!! This is all thanks to all the incredible work activists like you did! Thanks!
Keep up the struggle! Rawk!

I'm really all for animal rights and stuff, but for some reason I can't convince myself to go vegetarian. Well, vegetarian first then vegan. I've written, read, and watched about the evil of factory farms and stuff, but I can't seem to give up seafood and chicken. Do you have any suggestions?
